Oh- But of course. [He sees her into his workshop. It’s a large room, though much of it is concentrated around his heavy wooden desk. Book shelves line the room, there are tables with half-finished work on them, little heaps of things deemed relevant to each project, and open books with notes and diagrams scrawled inside. ]
[There was a fireplace, large and crackling as the sole heat source in the room. Masses of candles in different sizes and heights melted together perch on most surfaces as the primary light source. ]
[He has a rug in front of the fire with a chair and a couch. The couch has telltale signs on being slept in- a pillow on one side and a couple blankets folded over the back. ]
[He has a cupboard and a shelf outfitted with various bottles of liquor. He opens the cupboard and pulls out some jarringly modern boxes of Asian snacks and gas station fare.]
[She sure did. She scaled the hell out of them. Her jean pants are frayed and slightly dirty where she must've skinned them on rock, but there's no sign of injury. Same with her hands.
[Weird indeed. He would find the right way to understand that in particular. She must be made of sterner stuff. ]
Now there’s a girl after my own heart. I couldn’t afford to be picky either, especially growing up. But this- this stuff is all good.
[he pulls all the boxes out with that encouragement, making a pile of packaged treats in front of her. Nuts, chips, cookies, a lot of rice crackers and the sorts of things with cartoons of drunk Korean businessmen and anthropomorphic animals on the front. Cid had apparently failed his first foray in being marketed towards at Bangsan.]
[Cid looks at her jeans. Is there any blood on the fabric? ]
How sweet do you take your tea, love?
[Is that Cid being overtaken by how bad he misses his daughter? Yeah, he’s a sucker right now for sure.]
Very sweet. I remember putting a lot of cubes in it.
Etraya had a — garden party once, where everyone had tea.
I think that's what it was called.
[But that's probably to be expected from a kid. Will she ever grow out of the sweets phase? Only time will tell. As she grabs for the snacks, she starts chowing down pretty quickly; metabolism, and all that. Always growing!
Upon inspection, she does have blood dried on her knees.
A garden party? I remember tea in the snow… When was this?

You didn’t hurt yourself on the way here, did you?

I was in Etraya a long time ago... and when I came back, many months went by.
[It was a very weird experience.
