Powers (no more than 150 words):

1. Thunder/Lighting Magic: projectile, electrifying the ground, imbuing attacks with it, calling down thunder bolts, very fast movement. The implementation is a little loosey-goosey.
2. Transformation (Priming) Can turn into a giant kaiju wizard God (Ramuh) or turn halfway into this. Makes his magic more powerful and allows him to teleport.
3. Quicker healing/recovery from a lot of damage.

Note: When he overuses his magic or Primes at all he will be weakened and likely cough up blood afterwards. Using magic at all increases the amount of physical petrification he has.

Personality

What is your character most afraid of? How are they defined by this fear? (100-300 words)

Cid is most afraid of living without achieving his goals of freedom for himself and others, and subsequently dying before he can achieve this satisfactorily. And dying is the ticking clock he can feel every single day. This makes him hurry, rush, and unable to stand still for very long. He makes incomplete plans and takes drastic and dramatic measures without second thought, trusting in his ability to improvise and survive more than he should, perhaps. This makes him at least seem arrogant and fool-hardy.

As impatient with himself as he is, he is also impatient with others. He knows there is a finite amount of time to do things, so he makes choices on others’ behalf as well that press them faster than they are necessarily ready for. He underprepared everyone around him by not giving them enough information or context for anything he wants them to accomplish. Who are the enemies? What are they capable of? What are the risks?

Part of it is information control, but part of it is that there’s simply no time! He has spent years and years trying to get through to others by merely talking only to find that he cannot achieve his goals through those means.

He absolutely hates when others are treated unfairly and their choices are taken from them. “If you don’t have a choice you may as well be dead” and “I am a man so why must I live as lesser” being core quotes and philosophies.

What is your character's greatest desire? How are they defined by this desire? (100-300 words)

This is just the other side of the coin of his fear. Cid wants true equality and freedom for the entire world. The means to this end involves destroying the source of magic, as he sees this as a required first step to make everyone more equal. As a consequence, his desire being most rooted in his vision for the world means that he is not very selfish or self involved.

He shies away from bragging, he tries to care for everyone he can, stretching himself beyond his actual ability. He never asks anyone to do something that he will not do himself. He also has many unhealthy coping mechanisms. But he is uncompromising in this vision and will happily endure poverty and hardship in exchange for freedom and equality.

How will not having memories change your character? What core personality traits, if any, will change? How? (200-303 words)

He will be freer and easier. He is used to having to hold the reins on a lot of information and do a lot of tasks. Though, he probably can’t actually sit still, even if he acts like he wants to. “There will be time enough for quiet contemplation when I’m dead,” he might say when someone interrupts him in his office, but he’s hard to pin down otherwise. He physically is always fidgeting and takes ten meandering steps where someone else might take 5 in a straight line.

He is an inventor, but he did use to be a Lord Commander for an army, then the leader and caretaker of a large illicit group of hidden-away people from a slave class. Many of them were ill and disabled, and he spent enormous amounts of his time hunting, making connections, securing resources, gathering information for more people to rescue and more. Without all of that, he will not be as guarded, though his impulse to occupy his time will need to be sated. His emotions will be more immediately accessible, as he will not think that he needs to conceal them for any purpose.

He is a busy-body and gossip by nature. So he will spend time learning about and understanding others in order to understand what sort of people he has as potential allies.

He is a natural manipulator, though not a malicious one. He simply understands that if you want your way, you can’t be fully honest all the time. Honest well-intentioned lines of thoughts are not always well-received and in the spirit they are intended. He isn’t perfect, but he is a good judge of character and will naturally move towards greater goods and justice. These decisions are often difficult and illegal, having earned him the title “Cid the Outlaw”.
